FCA to provide emergency food assistance in South Sudan

FCA has allocated 50,000 euros to give unconditional cash to the most vulnerable people in Juba County.
SOUTH SUDAN is seeing an alarming increase in regression to conflict caused by political divisions between different factions in the country.
Since February 10, 2025, more than 84,000 people have been displaced internally & to neighbouring countries, according to the European Commission’s Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO) in a March 19 report.
The continuous conflict has caused numerous deaths, including mainly women & children. This comes on top of increasing pressure on South Sudan as numbers of refugees and returnees are increasing, especially from neighbouring Sudan, which is suffering a devastating civil war.
The current conflict and political uncertainty has severely impacted Juba County, exacerbating existing challenges and creating new ones. In addition to hosting urban refugees, the new influx of internally displaced persons in Juba is putting a strain on the City’s resources and infrastructure with some of them facing dire humanitarian situations including inadequate food and water.
FCA has allocated 50,000 Euros to its country office in South Sudan to provide emergency food assistance to the most vulnerable food insecure households through unconditional cash assistance.
200 of the most food insecure households, representing 1,400 people will be supported in six deprived areas of Juba City. These are of mix of returnees, internally displaced people, refugees and host community.
