Finn Church Aid concludes change negotiations

Finn Church Aid (FCA) has completed its change negotiations. The negotiations resulted in a reduction of staff equivalent to 8.4 full-time positions in FCA’s Helsinki office.

CHANGE NEGOTIATIONS started at the end of November 2024. The aim was to address a structural funding gap, find ways to improve efficiency and ensure the effectiveness of the work.

“The aim of the change negotiations was to ensure the continuation of FCA’s core tasks in a situation where securing funding for development and humanitarian aid has become increasingly challenging in many ways. I would like to thank the staff for their constructive attitude in a difficult situation,” says Tomi Järvinen, FCA Executive Director.

Since 2013, FCA’s funding has increased from €31 million to almost €80 million. The number of beneficiaries has quadrupled since 2018. Last year, FCA’s work reached almost 1.4 million people.

Most of this growth has come through international fundraising and directly funding programme activities. The funding required for programme support activities has not grown at the same rate, leading to a structural funding gap.
